Sound Effects and the possibilities

Updated over a week ago

The prompt is the text or instruction that tells the AI what output is expected. The AI understands natural language and audio terminology.

Simple Prompts

These simple prompts try to get the AI to generate a single sound effect. Examples include "person walking on grass" or "glass breaking." These prompts will generate a single sound effect with a few variations.

You can improve these prompts by adding more detail, for example, “high-quality, professionally recorded footsteps on grass, sound effects foley.” Finding a good balance between being descriptive and keeping it brief enough for AI to understand can require some experimentation.

Complex Prompts

Complex prompts include multiple sound effects or a sequence of sound effects happening in a specific order, such as 'A man walks through a hallway and then falls down some stairs'. While the AI understands these prompts, we recommend generating individual sound effects and combining them in an audio editor of your choice for the best results.

Please see our complete overview for SFX for more details on prompting for sound effects, examples, and audio terminology that might be useful for writing prompts.
